Wayne Tang, PhD

Dr. Wayne Tang is the Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of QuantX Biosciences. Before joining QuantX, he spent close to 6 years at Schrodinger, where he played a key role in building the drug discovery capability and portfolio. Dr. Tang started his industrial career at Merck as a medicinal chemist in 2004. At Merck, he led multiple drug discovery programs ranging from hit finding to lead optimization. In his career of over 20 years as a drug hunter, Dr. Tang has led or contributed to the discovery of over 10 preclinical candidates. He is also a co-author of over 70 peer reviewed articles and patent applications.

Dr. Tang holds a BS in chemistry and biology from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and a PhD in chemistry from Yale University, where he worked on the total synthesis of Ingenol. He has also studied palladium catalysis as a postdoctoral fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
